Forest Lakes’ landowner is preserving 189 acres of open space as a conservation area so it will remain pristine and protected forever. While the Forest Lakes community continues to flourish, this scenic parcel and wildlife habitat, about the size of 143 football fields, will remain in its natural state providing unobstructed views of the Front Range Mountains from Forest Lakes, the Interstate-25 valley and surrounding areas of Monument and El Paso County. Future access to the neighboring trail system and Pike National Forest is a possibility at some point.

You can learn more about the conservation area by reading this blog post from Palmer Land Conservancy.
