NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to C.R.S. Section 32-1-1001(2), the Boards of Directors of the Forest Lakes Metropolitan District and Pinon Pines Metropolitan District Nos. 2 – 3 may fix or increase fees, rates, tolls, penalties, or charges for domestic water or sanitary sewer services provided to the Districts’ residents and property owners within or outside the boundaries of the Districts. Such action is being considered by the Boards of Directors of the Districts at a special meeting of the Boards scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 6385 Corporate Drive, Suite 200, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE INCREASES
The Management of Forest Lakes Metropolitan District (FLMD) has evaluated the projected operating costs for 2020 and has found that the rates for water and wastewater services and for common area landscaping and watering do not support the projected 2020 operating costs for those services. Therefore rates increases for all three services are being proposed for 2020. The FLMD Board will hold a Public Hearing on December 9th at 4:00 p.m. at the offices of Classic Homes – 6385 Corporate Drive, Suite 200, Colorado Springs CO – to consider the proposed increases. We encourage all interested residents to attend.
The information below shows both the current rates and the proposed rates for each service. If approved, these rates would be effective on January 1, 2020.

Management did evaluate the water and wastewater service charges for other northern Districts and towns including Monument, Donala, Triview and Woodmoor and, in general, their current service rates are higher than those being proposed. None of these entities have a charge comparable to FLMD’s landscape maintenance fee; in many developments, such services are covered by HOA assessments.
